Install on macOS

Install KONWA, authorize KONWA Microphone, then choose it in your voice app.

Install KONWA

  1. Download KONWA for macOS, open it and drag KONWA into Applications.
  2. Open KONWA, click Sign in through your browser, and sign in with an email code or your Google account. Allow the microphone when the first run asks.

Authorize KONWA Microphone

After your first translated sentence, KONWA offers to add its virtual microphone, KONWA Microphone. Choose Authorize and enter your Mac’s password (an administrator’s). If you chose Later, Authorize is on the home screen and in Settings → Devices.

Check it in KONWA

In KONWA, open Settings → Devices and check that KONWA Microphone is there.

Choose it in your voice app

In Discord, Zoom or wherever you talk, set the microphone to KONWA Microphone. Keep the output on your headphones.

Where the setting is: Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, Discord, streaming apps.

Optional: turn on Listen Translation

Under Listen on the home screen, choose the app the other side speaks in (macOS 14.2 or later). macOS asks whether KONWA may record system audio: allow it. If you declined, turn it on in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording.

Headphones are required. On speakers the microphone picks up the translated voice and the other person, and KONWA translates both as if you had said them.
