Agreement to These Terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Shanghai Spark Light Technology Co., Ltd. (SPARKLIGHT.AI), which operates KONWA. Using KONWA means accepting them. If you do not accept them, do not use it.

KONWA is in closed beta. Features described on this site may change, and some are not open to everyone yet.

The Service

KONWA translates what you say, as you say it, and speaks the translation in the apps you already use.

Machine translation makes mistakes. KONWA is not a certified, legal or medical translation service, and it should not be relied on where an error would be costly or dangerous.

Your Account

One account serves both the website and the desktop app, and it is yours alone. Keep access to your email address: anyone who receives the sign-in code can sign in.

The free trial is ten minutes, once. Creating further accounts to take it again is not allowed.

Plans and Billing

Three plans grant translation time each month:

• Player, $8.90 a month: 10 hours of translation. Voice cloning is not included.
• Standard, $29 a month: 28 hours of translation, with voice cloning included.
• Business, $49 a month: 60 hours of translation, with voice cloning included. The same features as Standard, with more time.
• Paying yearly: ten monthly payments for twelve months of service — $89, $290 or $490 a year. Hours are still granted monthly.
• Payment: Stripe takes the payment and issues the invoice. Taxes are calculated at checkout. A subscription renews automatically until you cancel it.
• Price changes: we may change prices. An existing subscription keeps its price until the end of the period you have paid for, and we will tell you before the next one.

How Translation Time Is Counted

Time counts from when you start translation until you stop it. Quiet moments count too, and speaking a lot does not cost more.

A plan grants its hours each month. They do not roll over: whatever is unused when the month refreshes is gone.

Running out stops translation. Nothing is ever bought for you automatically.

Time Packs

A time pack adds 10 hours for $19 as a single payment, not a subscription. You can buy one whenever you need it, as often as you need it.

Pack hours go into one extra-time balance. Every purchase extends that whole balance to 90 days from that purchase. Your monthly hours are always used first, and extra time only once they run out.

Cancellation and Refunds

You can cancel a subscription at any time. It keeps working until the end of the period you have paid for, and it is not renewed. Cancelling does not refund the period you are in.

If something goes wrong on our side — you were charged twice, or the service was unusable — write to support@konwa.live and we will put it right.

Time packs are consumable: once hours from a pack have been used, that part is not refundable. An unused pack can be refunded within 14 days of purchase.

Voice Cloning

Standard and Business let you create a voice from a short recording, so that you still sound like yourself in another language.

Only use a recording of yourself, or of someone who has agreed to it. A cloned voice is not a way to sound like someone else.

We may remove a voice, or close an account, where we have good reason to believe a voice was created without permission.

Acceptable Use

When using KONWA, do not:

• Break the law: you are responsible for having the right to translate the conversation you are in. Rules about telling other people, and about recording, differ from place to place.
• Impersonate anyone: do not use a translated or cloned voice to mislead people about who is speaking.
• Resell or share access: an account is for one person, and access to KONWA is not yours to resell.
• Work around limits: do not evade the translation time your plan grants, or the measures that protect the service.

Availability and Changes

We may change, interrupt or withdraw parts of KONWA. Where a change affects what you have paid for, we will tell you in advance.

The services KONWA depends on can fail, and translation may be unavailable or wrong. We do not promise that it is always available or always accurate.

Disclaimers and Liability

KONWA is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we exclude warranties that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Ending This Agreement

You may stop using KONWA and close your account at any time.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or where we must do so by law. If we close yours without cause, we will refund the unused part of what you have paid.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the law of governing jurisdiction, and disputes are settled in its courts.
