Game app settings

Microphone settings for Discord, Steam and in-game voice.

Set the microphone to KONWA’s virtual device and leave the output on your headphones. The settings below sit in different places; the change is the same.

Discord

  1. Start translating in KONWA.
  2. Open User Settings → Voice & Video.
  3. Set Input Device to the virtual device KONWA shows.
  4. Leave Output Device on your headphones.
  5. Use the microphone test on the same page to confirm it receives the translation.

Steam

Steam → Settings → Voice, then set the voice input device to the same virtual device. This covers Steam friend voice and games that use it.

In-game voice

In the game’s audio settings, set the input device to the virtual device and leave the output on your headphones.

A game with no microphone setting uses the system default input. Changing that default sends the translation to every app, so change it back afterwards.

The translated voice arrives after your own. Suited to games built on talking and coordination, not to fast matches decided by instant calls.
