# Install on Windows

Install KONWA with VB-CABLE, restart, then choose it in your voice app.

## 1. Run the installer

[Download KONWA for Windows](https://konwa.live/en/download) and run the installer.

If you see “Windows protected your PC”:

> Windows protected your PC: More info → Run anyway

## 2. Keep VB-CABLE ticked

1. On Choose components, keep VB-CABLE virtual microphone (recommended) ticked and continue. VB-CABLE is VB-Audio’s donationware, installed by KONWA’s installer.
2. Allow VB-CABLE’s setup to make changes, then choose Install when Windows asks about the device software.
3. Restart the computer when the installer asks. KONWA opens after the restart: click Sign in through your browser and sign in with an email code or your Google account.

## 3. Check it in KONWA

In KONWA, open Settings → Devices and check that VB-CABLE is there. If you unticked it, choose Authorize there, then restart.

## 4. Choose it in your voice app

In Discord, Zoom or wherever you talk, set the microphone to CABLE Output (VB-Audio Virtual Cable). Keep the output on your headphones.

Where the setting is: [Microsoft Teams](https://konwa.live/en/guide/teams), [Zoom](https://konwa.live/en/guide/zoom), [Google Meet](https://konwa.live/en/guide/google-meet), [Discord](https://konwa.live/en/guide/discord), [streaming apps](https://konwa.live/en/guide/live-streaming).

## 5. Optional: turn on Listen Translation

Under Listen on the home screen, choose the app the other side speaks in (Windows 10 version 2004 or later).

> Headphones are required. On speakers the microphone picks up the translated voice and the other person, and KONWA translates both as if you had said them.
